Cookie Policy
Last updated: 25 August 2026
This policy explains how The Schema (operated by Doctor Devify Ltd) uses cookies and similar browser storage when you visit the site.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We also use localStorage, which behaves similarly but stores data directly in your browser rather than sending it to a server with each request. Where this policy says “cookies,” we mean both.
2. What we use
Strictly necessary
These are required for the Service to work. Examples: your signed-in session, your theme (light or dark), and your local progress on cases. Without these, core features break.
Functional
Save your preferences, the notes you’ve written against each case, and the confidence ratings you’ve given. Turning these off means your preferences reset every visit.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregated usage patterns and improve the Service. It is loaded only after you accept, and if you choose “essential only” no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent. We do not send your name, email address, notes or case answers to analytics, and no personal profiles are built from it. IP addresses are anonymised.
Third-party
Our payment provider (Stripe) may set cookies when you make a purchase. Embedded video providers (e.g. Vimeo) may set cookies when you play a video. These are governed by the providers’ own policies.
3. Managing cookies
You can clear browser cookies and localStorage via your browser settings at any time. Doing so will sign you out and reset your local progress. You can also block or restrict cookies at the browser level, but strictly necessary cookies need to remain on for the Service to work.
4. Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page with a new “last updated” date.
5. Contact
Questions about cookies can be sent to hello@theschema.co.uk.
